They tell me its pronounced "Green"

Its been basically a year since TJ took me dancing. Which means that its been long enough that he was ready to humor me and go again. S0 we drove to Gruene to try out another dance hall that claims to be the oldest in Texas.

We explored the old town and had dinner at the Grist Mill. This is the picture the hostess took after I lined it up and said "I think from here you can get the whole building". Thanks sweetie. Great effort there.

You'll just have to trust me - it was in the old cotton gin and it was really cool. Also, its the 3rd largest restaurant in Texas and there were 50 hosts and 80 servers working that night. Amazingly it was still totally charming.

Later that night we got gussied up and came back to see the show. Unfortunately (depending on who you ask) it was more Southern Rock than Country Swing, and there wasn't a whole lot of dancing going on. Guess that just means we'll have to go again!

Final Four

Occasionally Houston remembers that its a large city and behaves accordingly.

We spent the afternoon with Ludacris, Panic at the Disco and Kings of Leon at the park downtown (all free - we like that).

Then we got last minute tickets to the games. If Kentucky had won I would have won my family's bracket, and I would have been shopping next weekend with my winnings. It was the first sports game ever (not exaggerating even a little bit) where I really cared about the outcome. It didn't work out so well for me though, so I'm returning to my previous ambivalence towards sports. Its easier that way.
