I've done that exact thing. It helps if you take away anything that is warmed tone, the purple fades and the gray is more apparent. Or just repaint of course!
At least you can admit it. My aunt accidentally painted part of her house purple, but IT IS BROWN. And if you even hint that it might be slightly purplish, look out!
Didn't Steve and I warn you of this! Can I see your paint job...you can come see our crown molding...even though we are not done yet! Houses are....fun. :)
