The Downs are relocating to Colorado so we put together a H-town send off. Betty made the best sign, Noelle brought the best tres leches cake, and we couldn't let the evening pass without putting them on the spot, so we played a little trivia. Round 1: Josh, Jess or Booker? (When your subjects have done things like star in sitcoms, set high school power lifting records and run 3 marathons without training, its easy to make that one fun). Round 2: Texas or Colorado? (Hint: If it was positive, it was Texas). TJ of course was right at home as the master of ceremonies. The Campbell tradition of giving speeches at any and every family event has trained him well.

We're friends with the executive pastry chef of one of the schmanciest restaurants in Houston, and  my birthday gave us the perfect excuse to go visit him at work. His desserts are unreal. He also made sure we got VIP treatment and I ate every last bite of the three desserts he sent out for us. Best birthday dinner ever. 

The morning of my birthday I walked out of the bedroom to find 29 photos of TJ and I hanging from the ceiling fan, each with a "remember when..." written on the back. I'm not a terribly sentimental person, but this one got me.

first beach holiday

Memorial Day weekend in Destin with Nicki and Kevin. Wells didn't love the ocean. Or the sand.

 But the rest of us did love the seafood...

 the morning walks on an empty beach...

kicking it with our favorite Floridians...

hiding from the sun while the L's worked on their tans...

and taking loads of pictures on the boardwalk!
