Last we went to the Pont Du Gard

Afternoon stop on the way to the airport and way more impressive than I had expected. Turns out the only thing the Romans ever built that was bigger was the Colosseum. Who knew?

Roussillon, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Bonnieux and Lacoste

We zipped around the valley in our little car. The towns are only about 15 minutes apart so we hit quite a few without trying very hard. Each had their own style and each was totally charming.

Then we went to Provence

We spent our last two days in Provence, exploring the little towns scattered around the hills. We stayed at a hotel that overlooked Gordes and ate dinner while the sun was setting on a balcony just big enough for our one table. Ridiculous.

The real reason we went to Cassis

Along the coast between Marseilles and Cassis there is a series of inlets called the Calanques with rocky cliffs, gorgeous turquoise water and tiny beaches at the end. We kayaked from Port Mioux over to Calanque d'En-Vau and spent the afternoon kicking it on the beach, climbing on the cliffs and swimming.

Then we went to Cassis

One day and two nights at a little port town on the southern coast of France.

Then we went to Paris

Hotel off the Jardin Tulieres, more pastries and crepes than a girl should admit to eating, picnic dinner at sunset on the banks of the Seine. It was pretty perfect.
