Happy (early) Birthday Wells

Celebrated with the family a week early while they were all in town for Thanksgiving. Only grandchild status means this boy gets spoiled big time. We had a milkshake bar cause he loves them, but in the end he was pretty focused on the cake.

Walking to get french toast at Kraftsman and the park on the way home - its becoming a Saturday tradition. 

Halloween

We wanted to dress Wells up as Baxter for Halloween. Nicki made an amazing costume for him and shipped it over from Florida. Attempts to have him try on the outfit however were less than successful, and ultimately we had to admit defeat. At the last minute we went with 'quarterback' instead so he could still trick or treat with Arleigh. He was a huge fan of that part. Maybe we'll have better luck with a costume next year...

 

Zoo day

Wells took Grandma to the zoo for her birthday. He was scared of the elephants (so much bigger in real life?), he loved the rhinos, zebras and monkeys, he was not under any circumstances going to ride the carousel, and overall got most animated when looking at the pictures of animals on signs.

September stuff

Preschool co-op, play dates, lunch at Berryhill (the fountain!), dinner at Little Bigs (the milkshakes!), bedtime stories and a wedding we completely missed because we were 15 minutes late. 

Flooded

We planned a quick trip to the beach for Saturday afternoon thinking we'd lay on our towels in the sand while Wells played around us and have a lovely picnic dinner right there next to the ocean. Hurricane Karen (somewhere in the Gulf) had other ideas and the entire beach was flooded. Wells loved it though. To him it was an entire beach full of puddles to jump in.
